Reprocessed. Testing RC Astro StarXTerminator Photoshop / Affinity Photo plugin.

StarXTerminator can remove all stars from an image, leaving just the background and object of interest, in this case the Andromeda Galaxy. This tool enables processing the stars separately from the main object, so stars are kept small and more colourful.

CME June 9th 2021

I captured my first CME today, from just over 1000 frames taken at 15s intervals this short video is about 200 frames long, the CME lasted about 43 minutes in real time.

Scope: Coronado PST

Imaging Camera: Altair Astro GP-CAM 3 178M

Mount: Sky Watcher NEQ6 Pro

Image capture: SharpCap

I used "Planetary Imaging PreProcessor" (PiPP) to stabilise the Sun in the frame, that results in the unstable base of the video.

NGC 4565

A new target for me, NGC 4565 is a fantastic edge-on galaxy. My efforts probably don't do it justice, much more data required.

This image was compiled from 60 x 120s frames taken on 25 April.

Scope:     Sky Watcher ED80 DS Pro
Mount:    Sky Watcher NEQ6 Pro
Camera:  Altair Astro Hypercam 183C

Guide scope: Sky Watcher Evoguide 50ED
Guide cam:   Altair Astro GP-CAM 290M

Image capture: SharpCap
Guiding:           PHD2
Planetarium:    Cartes du Ciel

Stacked in DSS.

Processed in Affinity Photo V1.9.2 and Photoshop Elements 13.

The image was slightly affected by a nearly full Moon, leaving some bright patches lower right. Also, just visible in the image is NGC 4562 up and right of NGC 4565.

This is a rich field with approximately 20 objects in the field of view.
